Dr Subotheni Thavaneswaran
Dr Subotheni Thavaneswaran is a medical oncologist at The Kinghorn Cancer Centre, St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, with a clinical focus on colorectal cancers, neuro-oncology and precision oncology clinical trials.
She actively participates in the colorectal and neuro-oncology multidisciplinary team meetings, molecular tumour boards and departmental meetings. Dr Thavaneswaran serves as principal or sub-investigator on several investigator-initiated clinical trials utilising genomic biomarkers for patient selection, in addition to industry-led trials.
Dr Thavaneswaran is also a Senior Research Fellow at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, where she leads within the Cancer Molecular Screening and Therapeutics (MoST) program. She holds a Visiting Scientist appointment at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, following her PhD in cancer genomics, and is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. Dr Thavaneswaran has been invited to speak and present her clinical research at various national and international forums. She remains an active clinician-researcher, dedicated to translating genomic discoveries into clinical care.
