Skin & Melanoma

What is Skin Cancer?
Skin cancer arises from the uncontrolled growth of skin cells, usually due to ultraviolet (UV) exposure. It's the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, and melanoma is one of the most serious types. Learn more: Skin & Melanoma

The Skin and Melanoma Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) is a joint MDT between The Kinghorn Cancer Centre and GenesisCare. We discuss all skin cancer cases including non-melanomatous skin cancers and melanomas.

The MDT is chaired by Professor Dion Forstner, a radiation oncologist. It is attended by dermatologists, plastic surgeons, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, pathologists and imaging specialists. Meetings are held monthly.
